The appeal of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime has upheld the decision of July 4, 2023 for the acquittal of the former mayor of Pogradec, Eduart Kapri.
Kapri and 5 former officials of this Municipality were first accused of violations in the tender for the purchase of firewood with 9.2 million Lek held in October 2017.
Another charge against the former mayor was that of obstructing the local elections of June 30, 2019 by locking 3 schools and 1 kindergarten in the city's 2nd and 5th districts designated by the CEC as voting centers in the outer district. .
These charges have also been dropped for the 5 former officials of the Pogradec Municipality after the GJKKO Appeal declared them innocent.
