The relatives of the victims were burned inside the apartment: The boy entered to save his mother and stayed inside!

A double tragedy occurred this morning where a mother and son lost their lives as a result of the fire that engulfed their apartment.

The Lushi family has opened the mortuary doors for 57-year-old Rexh Lushi and his mother, Fatima Lushi , who lost their lives, while their apartment was completely burned down.

Relatives of the victims have said that the fire may have been caused by electricity.

They said that Rexha was helping her mother to get her out of the house.

"There was no way to help them, it was all the police, firefighters and the whole village," says a fellow villager of the victims. "He went in to get his mother out and stayed inside." 

He said that Rexha had also notified the police, before he went in to save his mother.

Rexha's wife survived the fire. The victim had children and the rest of the family abroad, mainly in England.

Around 02:00, in the village of Nikoliq, it is suspected that a fire accidentally broke out in the residence of the citizen RL. As a result of the fire, the citizen RL and his mother, the citizen FL, lost their lives, while the wife of the citizen RL, the citizen AL, was able to to leave the apartment.

 The investigative group, led by the prosecutor, is working to determine the cause of the fire.
