Anastasia in Greek means "Resurrection/rebirth".
Anastasia's speech at the Socialist Party Youth Assembly was a kind of revival of hope that not all young people are programmed to repeat slogans, like broken gramophone records that emit the same refrain: " Albania is blooming ", " We are the petals of the socialist rose !".
These calls sound more like an excerpt from a botany book than a political message.
For a moment, the script was broken. Instead of a eulogy for "the leader and the country that shines under his rule," Anastasia Zaimi, a high school student from Bilishti, spoke about education, employment and the real dilemmas of young people: staying or leaving Albania?
She spoke of a generation that cannot be held with orders and empty spoons. She did not mention the words "vision", "renaissance", "progress", "integration", but provided facts and arguments.
With that word, Anastasia reminded us of Andersen's fairy tale, which tells how, while everyone was praising the king's new clothes, the little boy shouted: "The king is naked"!
Her scream shone in stark contrast to the chorus of parrots.
The parrot is an interesting bird: it does not think, but faithfully reproduces what it hears.
There was no shortage of political parrots at the Youth Assembly.
They were there, with ready-made sentences, turning the Assembly into a recitation contest. But Anastasia was not one of them.
She had not come to recite the " poem " by heart, but to speak from the mind and heart. Anastasia did not speak properly, nor as he wanted to hear, but as she was.
This is precisely where the lesson she gave to her peers (and not only them) lies: there is no greater shame than young people who choose not to think, who choose to be servile before becoming professionals, who choose to make a career by becoming speakers for power.
As Anastasia spoke about the real problems of education and employment, a peer proudly declared that she was a petal of the socialist rose.
Apparently he still hasn't learned what happens to the petals when the flowering season ends and autumn arrives...
In a country where young people often feel forced to choose between departure and submission, Anastasia provided a third path: critical thinking.
Instead of becoming part of a "brainless crowd," she raised her voice and said what thousands of young people think, but have neither the stage nor the courage to say.
And this is precisely the biggest problem with politics: it is not afraid of parrots, but of people who think.
Because the parrot can be fed, trained, and taught to repeat phrases.
But the truth cannot be bought with a membership card, nor can it be manipulated with empty speeches.
At the end of the day, the choice is simple: parrot or thinking human?
Anastasia gave her answer.
Is it the turn of others or will they continue to say: how beautifully dressed the King is, when they see that he is completely naked!
