Today, the first session at the GJKKO against the former mayor of Durrës, Vangjush Dako, took place.

Dako is being tried for abuse of office in two cases. The former mayor, after leaving GJKKO, said that he requested a summary trial, while he stated that there are no facts and evidence against him.

The process in charge of Dako has been postponed, while the first session of the trial on the merits took place this Thursday.

Dako was released, after spending 9 months in detention, exactly on February 27, 2024, after the terms of detention expired, and he was assigned the security measure "house arrest", with 24-hour police supervision.
