Criminology professor Ervin Karamuço said tonight that the weapon used by Ragip Gilaj, in the massacre that left 2 people dead and 2 injured in Shkodra, is an Israeli-made weapon with a very high rate of fire, used by professionals.

Karamuço indicated that this weapon, which fires 900 bullets per minute, was used in the 1980s by American secret services to protect dignitaries.

"One such weapon, an Israeli-made Uzi GAL, has also arrived in Albania. This weapon belongs to professional killers throughout the region – in Serbia, Montenegro – Bosnia and now it is the first case to appear in Albania."

It is used with a small caliber, does not require a silencer, takes the shape of a mushroom at close range and is fatal. It has more speed than firepower, it is not very audible, it comes as a muffled noise. These are the characteristics of a weapon for a professional, who has been selected to close the job as quickly as possible. It fires 900 bullets per minute. It was used in the 80s by the American secret services to protect personalities. It is all these parts of it that make us wonder how it is possible that this weapon ends up in the hands of these groups that have become empowered and have the pocket to have such weapons in their possession even for contract killings. I think this is contract killing , "said Karamuço on the Now show on Euronews Albania.
