A serious incident occurred this Friday afternoon in the village of Livoç, in Gjilan, Kosovo, where a man and a woman were shot with a gun. It is initially suspected that the man killed his wife and his friend, under unclear circumstances. It is reported that one person was also injured. 

The Kosovo Police itself has reacted to the serious incident, confirming that the victims are a male person, around 30 years old, who was found inside a car and a female, around 30 years old, who is suspected of also being shot dead by the same suspect.

It is also reported that one person was injured and, after receiving first aid at the Emergency Department of the General Hospital in Gjilan, was transferred to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCK) for further medical treatment.

It is reported that the perpetrator of the incident has surrendered and officers have seized the weapon used in the double crime.

Initial suspicions are that the incident occurred after the woman filed for divorce. However, numerous police forces have arrived at the scene and are working to fully investigate the case.

"Today, on 09.10.2026, at around 14:25, the Kosovo Police, namely the Police Station in Gjilan, received information regarding gunshots in the village of Livoç i Ulët, in the Municipality of Gjilan.

Immediately after receiving the information, the relevant police units, as well as two State Prosecutors, arrived at the scene, where it was determined that this was a serious incident, where it is suspected that a male person, about 30 years old, was killed by a firearm, who was found inside a vehicle. The Director of the DRP, Gjilan, also arrived at the scene.

A female person, around 30 years old, was brought to the General Hospital in Gjilan without any signs of life, who is suspected of also being shot dead by the same suspect.

Meanwhile, another person, who suffered gunshot injuries, after receiving first aid at the Emergency Department of the General Hospital in Gjilan, was transferred to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCK) for further medical treatment.

According to initial information, it is suspected that there is a family connection between the suspect and the victims. At this stage of the investigation, the motive that led to this serious incident is still unknown.

The suspect surrendered, while during the police operations a firearm was also seized, which is suspected to have been used in the case.

"The Kosovo Police, in coordination with the State Prosecutor and relevant investigative units, is undertaking the necessary investigative actions in order to fully clarify the circumstances of the event, determine the motive and document the case," the Police announced.
