A knife attack occurred this morning at a high school in the Başakşehir neighborhood of Istanbul, where eight female students were injured.

According to local authorities, the incident occurred at around 08:35, during a fight between students. It is suspected that the attack was carried out by a 15-year-old student, who was later arrested.

The injured were transported by ambulance to Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospitals for medical treatment. According to initial reports, three of the girls are in serious condition.

In a statement, the Istanbul Prefecture confirmed that a fight had broken out between students at the school, leaving several injured. Authorities initially reported five students injured, while later reports said eight students were injured.

 After the incident, medical teams arrived at the scene, and the injured students were taken to the hospital for treatment.

A judicial and administrative investigation has been launched into the incident, while authorities continue to clarify the circumstances of the attack.
