Our champion weightlifter Briken Calja has reacted to the latest news about him. Regarding the post made yesterday on his "Instagram" profile, he says:
" Clarification for public opinion regarding the created situation: First, the post made yesterday on my profile has nothing to do with the financial rewards of the last medals. I take moral responsibility for every post on my profile, so it is advisable to specifically clarify some situations and not leave room for misinterpretations.
Second, since the cards on the topic of rewards were opened on the table, I wanted to clarify and dot the "i" on a few things.
Regarding the government and the Ministry specifically, I am really grateful for the amended Sports Law and for the correct procedures regarding the rewards of the athletes for the medals won. The Ministry has done its work on this topic and the correctness shown by it deserves more than applause.
Regarding the Weightlifting Federation, I just wanted to express my regret for the constant lies and hypocrisy regarding this topic. If Briken's account received the full reward of the medals as the Federation claims, this is easily verifiable.
Only the first order of the Ministry has been transferred to Briken's account, as I have personally agreed to divide the reward in parts. Every banking transaction is easily verifiable in the banking systems and in the State Treasury, so we leave aside hypocrisy and lies but give proper direction to the work.
I bear the moral responsibility and perhaps even more for the last sentence regarding the Weightlifting Federation and the financial reward procedures! I just wanted to thank you for your support and see you soon in the next races. Break it !
