The staggering figures are revealed / Here's how much referee Slavko Vincic will earn when he referees the World Cup final

Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic has been appointed as the main referee of the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina.

He was informed by the president of FIFA's refereeing committee, Pierluigi Collina, and the 46-year-old Slovenian could not hide his emotions after learning of the decision that represents the pinnacle of his career.

The final will be played at MetLife Stadium in New York on Sunday from 9:00 PM, and Vincic will be assisted by Tomaz Klancnik and Andraz Kovacic.

In addition to the sporting honor, refereeing the final also brings considerable financial compensation. According to the Slovenian newspaper Delo, the main referee of the final should earn around $60,000 (52,500 euros) for that match.

It is estimated that Vincic's total earnings for the entire tournament could reach around $140,000 (120,000 euros), although the final amount depends on bonuses and FIFA calculations.

Judges' fee structure

This total includes a fixed fee of $70,000 (61,200 euros) just for participating in the World Cup.

Added to this are match fees, which were $3,000 in the group stage and just over $5,000 in the knockout stage.

It should be noted that FIFA has not officially published these figures on referee salaries.
