Inter suffer against Lecce, but take home a very valuable 1-0 victory in the match that was originally scheduled for December and then postponed to allow the black and blue team to go play the Super Cup in Saudi Arabia. The match was decided by a shot from striker Pio Esposito, introduced after about ten minutes of the second half in place of Bonny. Thanks to the three points of the evening, the team of technician Cristian Chivu establishes the first really strong break of this championship, bringing to 6 points the difference over Napoli, which had previously been stopped at home by Parma. Milan can respond tomorrow (it is also now at -6) and also has to recover the match postponed for the same reason against Como.

It was not Inter's best performance, as they struggled to break down the solid defence of Eusebio Di Francesco's side. The game could have been easier for the Nerazzurri midway through the first half when referee Maresca whistled a penalty for a foul between Danilo Veiga and Bonny, but after being called in by VAR for an on-field review, the referee ruled that the Lecce defender had touched the ball before and therefore disallowed the penalty. The first half continued with Inter playing in a sterile manner, in a match that was essentially ugly and poor in chances.

NAPLES – PARMA 0-0

The match of the 16th week of Serie A between Napoli and Parma produced a 0-0 in Maradona, a result that forced the Neapolitans to settle for the third consecutive draw in the championship. Conte (in the stands due to suspension) decided to relaunch Langu from the first minute, giving Mazzocchi a place in the starting lineup, while Cuesta carried out a wide rotation: on the bench initially two big names like Pellegrino and Bernabé, while goalkeeper born in 2002 Filippo Rinaldi made his debut in Serie A. The Partenopei started strongly and in the 11th minute immediately found a goal with the usual McTominay: but an offside position by Mazzocchi at the beginning of the action led to the goal being canceled.

It was Rinaldi who then denied both Buongiorno and Hojlund the advantage with two beautiful saves in the first half, with Conte bringing in Neres and Spinazzola in the second half – and even Lucca at the end – but no one managed to find the shot that would be worth three points. The final 0-0 thus forces Napoli to a third consecutive draw, with the Partenopei now on 40 points together with Milan (on the field tomorrow in Como). Parma climbs to 22 points.
