Unauthorized meetings with ultras, Calhanoglu risks disqualification

The scandal of the ultras in Italy may endanger the career of the Turkish midfielder Hakan Çalhanoglu. The Inter star could be suspended for one or more matches after admitting to having contact with Curva Nord capultras Marco Ferdico and Antonio Bellocco, despite Inter advising him not to do so.

In addition to the suspension, Çalhanoglu also risks a fine of 20,000 euros. Everything revolves around the violation of Article 25 of the Code of Sports Justice and in particular paragraph 10, according to which "it is forbidden to have relations with representatives of fan groups that are not part of associations connected to clubs".

The Turkish midfielder was the third member of Inter who testified as part of the investigation into the two ultra groups of Inter and Milan, after coach Simone Inzaghi and vice president Javier Zanetti, but also the captain of Milan, Davide Calabria.

Calhanoglu stated to investigators that he had dealt with the ultras only "on a personal basis" and "out of gratitude", denying that he had ever attended dinners with them and stating that he had discovered "who Bellocco really was only after saw the photo after the news about his murder".

No one is registered as a suspect, but all are at risk with sports justice, as there is a parallel investigation by the FIGC Federal Prosecutor's Office, which has already opened a case and is awaiting letters from the Milan judges.
