Georgina Rodríguez experienced fame from zero to a global scale in a matter of seconds, thanks to her relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, she emphasizes that, despite the incredible media exposure, she has never felt more famous than her partner.
In an interview with Elle Spain, the model and entrepreneur confessed that the transformation from an unknown girl to an international public figure was not as immediate as one might think.
"It took me a while to start feeling like a celebrity. It didn't happen overnight. Even today I'm surprised when I see myself on screens around the world and I think I'll never fully get used to it, because I wasn't born famous," Georgina said.
She does not deny that fame has brought her great professional benefits, but emphasizes that today she also sees it as a means to raise public awareness about social causes, thanks to the great attention it generates.
"The downside is that the simplest things I did every day before I got involved with Cristiano, going to the gym, walking freely in the center of Madrid with a friend or drinking coffee on a terrace without being observed, are now almost impossible," she said.
The model also reflected on the moment she met the football star, which she describes as a deeply emotional experience.
"It was a connection that went beyond the physical. I can't say that I predicted my fate or that in ten years we would have five children, but I experienced an inexplicable feeling. It was as if our souls spoke to each other before our eyes met. Something inside me recognized something inside him and from that moment on I knew that this connection was different, unique."
Georgina, or Gio, as Ronaldo calls her, adds that they build their love every day.
It changes, adapts, and strengthens at every stage of life, culminating now with the threshold of marriage and an engagement ring that has left everyone speechless.
“It's so beautiful. It's the least he could give me after ten years of waiting,” she says with a laugh. “The truth is, when he proposed, it was the last thing on my mind. It took me a while to process the giant diamond he gave me. I was so shocked that I left it in my room and didn't open it until dawn.”
According to Cristiano Ronaldo, the wedding will be intimate and Georgina completely agrees with this idea.
"A small wedding, 100%, without a doubt," she emphasizes.
It was previously reported that the couple have chosen the Funchal Cathedral in Madeira, Ronaldo's birthplace, as the venue for the ceremony.
The wedding is expected to take place during the summer, after the World Cup, in this historic religious building that dates back to 1514.
