Historic moment in New Jersey! Trump hands over the trophy to Rodri, all of

Spain has started the big celebration after its triumph in the 2026 World Cup, with the most symbolic moment of the ceremony coming when the trophy was handed over to captain Rodri.

On stage at the stadium in New Jersey, United States President Donald Trump handed the World Cup trophy to the Spanish midfielder, who then raised it aloft in front of thousands of fans in the stadium and millions more watching the ceremony around the world.

La Roja players erupted in joy as the trophy was lifted into the air. The Spanish players sang, danced and celebrated a historic success after defeating Argentina 1-0 in the grand final thanks to Ferran Torres' goal in the 106th minute of extra time.

For Spain, this is the second world title in history, after the one won in 2010 in South Africa. This year's triumph also completes a golden period for Spanish football, following the success in the European Championship.

Rodri, who also won the "Golden Ball" as the best player of the World Cup, was the one who had the honor of raising the trophy on behalf of the entire team, on a night that will long remain in the memory of Spanish fans.
