The Albanian national team achieved an important 1-0 victory over Latvia, in the World Cup qualifiers match, held at the "Air Albania" stadium.

Elseid Hysaj emphasized the importance of this victory for the continuation of the dream of qualification, expressing his happiness for the triumph, but also emphasizing the need to improve clarity and efficiency in such crucial matches.

"It's a very important match and we needed a win to keep the dream alive. I'm very happy that we won even though it was a match with both mental and physical fatigue. We need to end these matches much faster than 1-0. I understand what kind of player Broja is and I try to put him in his full potential. We can't play 1-0 anymore because all the teams have changed, we need to go 2-0 because the game can change in the last minutes and we need to do more. To draw in Belgrade is a dream for me. If I won that match it would be the best day of my life," said Hysaj.

Gjimshiti: The Albanian national team needs to improve something

National team captain, Berat Gjimshiti, spoke about the Red and Black Clan, after the minimal victory over Latvia.

Gjimshiti appeared happy about the triumph, while emphasizing that the Rossoneri must improve their fatigue.

Among other things, he said that the team did well in the first half, while in the second they slowed down.

"We are happy for the victory and the 3 points here in Albania, to keep the possibility of qualification open. The first half was very good, in the second we slowed it down. They were waiting for them to cross. Fatigue is the most important fact in our team, which we need to improve on."

I had a lot of time to think about shooting well. I hope I do well the third time. The victory is important and for that I am happy. At that moment I can't think about changing players, the coach decides about that.

"I'm not at the level I could be at the end of the season either. Every player gives their best and wants to play. Everyone is happy when the National Team wins," said Gjimshiti.
