The veteran sports journalist dies while reporting the Argentina-Netherlands

Veteran sports journalist Grant Wahl has passed away while reporting on the Argentina-Netherlands match that took place yesterday evening in Qatar.

The BBC reports that the 48-year-old suddenly collapsed while watching the match. So far, no official information has been given about the cause of death of the unfortunate journalist.

Last month, Wahl was arrested by Qatari authorities after trying to enter a stadium wearing a rainbow shirt in support of LGBT rights.

In a statement to the media, the US Soccer Federation expressed its shock at the sad news of the death of the 48-year-old journalist.

" Fans of soccer and top-quality journalism knew we could always count on Grant to deliver insightful and entertaining news about soccer and its top players ," the U.S. Soccer Association said in a statement.
