The legend of one of the most mythical clubs in the history of world football is growing. Liverpool is not even the biggest city in England, but over the years it has won one of the most extraordinary teams.

We are talking about one of the most charismatic teams any population can dream of, overcoming a dark, not-so-distant era that made the Reds fear for staying in the elite.

They are back strongly, especially under the leadership of Jurgen Klopp, and are getting ready to experience the tenth final in the Champions League, Europe's highest competition for clubs, something only a few privileged ones can boast of.

Liverpool reached the Champions League final, the 10th in its history, becoming the fourth double-digit team, behind Real Madrid (16), Bayern Munich (11) and Milan (11).

Of them, the English reds have won six and in Paris will seek the seventh title. Special merit belongs to coach Jürgen Klopp, who in four seasons will play the third final. He lost to Real Madrid in Kiev (3-1) in 2018 and won the "Wanda Metropolitano" against Tottenham (2-0) in 2019.

Even for Klopp, Vilareal's evening was a record: for the German coach it is the fourth final of the Champions League, like Alex Ferguson, Carlo Ancelotti and Marcello Lippi. The same number of season finals for the two attacking phenomena, Momo Salah and Sadio Mané, who also faced off in the final act of the African Cup of Nations. Thiago Alcantara is ready to reach the incredible record of Clarence Seedorf; the former Dutch midfielder, in fact, was the only player to have won the Champions League with three different teams (Ajax in 1995, Real Madrid in 1998, Milan in 2003 and 2007). The Spaniard could succeed if Liverpool triumph in the Paris final, having already lifted the trophy with the Barcelona (2011) and Bayern Munich (2020) jerseys.

Here are all of Liverpool's Champions League finals:

1977: Liverpool-Borussia Monchengladbach 3-1 (Rome)

1978: Liverpool-Bruges 1-0 (London)

1981: Liverpool-Real Madrid 1-0 (Paris)

1984: Liverpool-Roma 1-1 (4-2 penalty) (Roma)

1985: Juventus-Liverpool 1-0 (Brussels)

2005: Liverpool-Milan 3-3 (3-2 penalties) (Istanbul)

2007: Milan-Liverpool 2-1 (Athens)

2018: Real Madrid-Liverpool 3-1 (Kiev)

2019: Liverpool-Tottenham 2-0 (Madrid)
