The private life of Thomas Tuchel, the coach recently fired by the owners of Chelsea, has been a hot topic in the dressing room of the London team in recent days.
His failed marriage and relationship with a young Brazilian girl has become a controversial issue even among Chelsea players.
Tuchel was sacked yesterday after managing just seven games in the 2022-2023 season and 100 days into the reign of Todd Boehly, who bought the club for £4.25bn from Roman Abramovich.
The German coach is said to have lost the confidence of the Chelsea team due to his difficult character and erratic behavior, so much so that his private life had fueled rumors in the dressing room, writes "The Independent".
In April 2022, Tuchel and his wife, Sissi, announced that they were divorcing after 13 years of marriage. Friends of the couple said they had "exhausted all avenues" and that there was no hope of a reconciliation.
As a result, the couple filed for divorce and the separation became official in May after a judge at London's High Court accepted their request.
It didn't take long for Tuchel to "forget" his marriage as he was pictured with his new Brazilian girlfriend, Natalie Max, on July 28. They were spotted vacationing in Sardinia.
According to "The Independent", Tuchel's behavior (relationship with a much younger girl) transformed the team's perception of the coach. However, this is not the only reason Tuchel lost control of the dressing room at Chelsea.
The players lost faith in his vision for the club and the tactics he used. He was no longer considered the "genius" who led them to glory in the Champions League. Even the Chelsea players had begun to complain that the German was asking for something and in the end he was saying something else.
For this reason, the new managers did not see the German coach as the right man for a long-term project.
