German football legend Michael Ballack, 45, is in a romance with his late son's girlfriend, 21-year-old model Sophia Schneiderhan.

They were seen together enjoying a visit to Art Basel, a fair for modern and contemporary art. German media report that they appeared in love and were seen kissing in public. Ballack and Schneiderhan approached each other after the fatal accident of Ballack's son, Emilios.

It is not the first time the couple have been seen together since appearing together in a Berlin fashion neighborhood. Their relationship comes less than a year after Ballack's son, Emilio, was killed in a bicycle accident near Ballack's Portuguese holiday home.

Emilio was the second son, of Ballack's three sons. He was born from Michael Ballack's marriage to Simone Lambe, whom Ballack would marry in 2008 but divorce in 2012.

Friends of the Ballack-Schneiderhan couple told Bild that they believed the relationship was good for Ballack and that the couple did not feel disturbed by the 24-year-old difference.

Sophia works for Louisa Models and has over 54,000 followers on Instagram, where her profile is private.
