Wrestling World Cup/ Valiev qualifies for the grand final, aims for the gold medal tomorrow

Chermen Valiev, a wrestler representing Albania and who gave our country its first Olympic medal in history, has qualified for the 74 kg freestyle final at the World Wrestling Championships.

The 27-year-old first eliminated Belgian Ibragim Veliev and Mongolian wrestler Erdenebat.

In the quarterfinals, Valiev defeated American David Aron 7-5.

Then, in the semifinals, Valiev defeated Sidakov 6-4.

Now, tomorrow, the athlete representing Albania will compete for the gold medal, while in the worst case, he will secure our country the silver medal at the World Cup taking place in Croatia.
