SPAK has extended the investigations into Vlora Airport, which has become a bone of contention between businessman Behgjet Pacolli and the Albanian government, by another 3 months.

 Special prosecutors argue that additional investigations are needed, and for this reason have postponed the investigations until November 23, 2026. Suspected for the charge of violating equality in tenders are 7 members of the concession awarding commission.

From documents that have previously leaked from SPAK, it appears that there are doubts about the predetermination of the winning consortium for the construction of Vlora Airport.

"There are suspicions that the members of the concession award committee, in collaboration with each other, have favored the merger of the companies Mabco Construction, Yda Group and 2A GROUP in the qualification and in the announcement of the winner of the concession procedure," SPAK documents state.

The investigation into this matter began after the company Al-De Corporation LTD reported it, through citizen Aldi Çeli. The clashes over Vlora airport initially began between two shareholders, Behgjet Pacolli of Mabco and Valon Ademi of 2A GROUP.
