Saturday's TNT attack in Gjirokastra caused the loss of life of Beqir Devoll, the driver and owner of the 'Mercedes Benz' that exploded near the Gjirokastra Police.
The 48-year-old passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning while being transported by ambulance to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana.
The victim was also the target of the assassination attempt, although it was previously reported that the target was passenger Rigers Mela, who is out of danger.
Devolli had just returned from Tirana and was heading to his apartment in the "Palorto" neighborhood. About 700 meters before reaching the site of the explosion, Rigers Mela also got into the car.
The latter's Range Rover was burned a year ago in Dunavat, Gjirokastra.
The 48-year-old was also known by the nickname "Çilo Hunderri." According to initial information, he is suspected of being involved in drug trafficking in Greece, but the Gjirokastra police have no file on him.
