A 38-year-old man from Durrës has been arrested in Tirana after being caught driving around with firearms and ammunition in his vehicle.

During a search of the car, police found a pistol and 23 cartridges, which were seized as material evidence.

Meanwhile, the Blues report that DK citizen, 38 years old, was arrested.

 Police announcement:

Tirana/The police operation codenamed "Traces" is finalized.

The 38-year-old was arrested for driving a vehicle, armed with firearms and ammunition.

A pistol and 23 cartridges were seized.

In continuation of the work to prevent and crack down on cases of illegal possession of weapons, based on information obtained operationally, the services of Police Commissariat No. 2, in cooperation with the Tirana Special Operational Force, have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Traces".

As a result of police actions, on "Perlat Rexhepi" street, the Police services have observed and stopped the vehicle driven by citizen DK, 38 years old, resident of Durrës.

During the search of the vehicle, a pistol firearm, as well as 23 cartridges, found under the driver's seat, were found and seized as material evidence in the driver's purse.

At the end of the actions, citizen DK was arrested in flagrante delicto, for the criminal offense of "Unauthorized possession of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition".

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
