With her voice trembling with emotion and with employees applauding, Belinda Balluku bid farewell to the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure with a meeting where she introduced her successor, Enea Karakaçi .
In one of her worst moments, while SPAK has requested her arrest and the assembly will vote in 6 days on her fate, Balluku made it clear how in her work she had always been guided by the example of Edi Rama, whom she called " the best school ."
Balluku is accused by the Special Prosecution Office of having, together with her subordinates, predetermined the winners in two tenders worth 210 million euros, the Llogara Tunnel, worth 190 million euros, and Lot 4 of the Grand Ring Road, worth 20 million euros.
SPAK has also requested her arrest after arguing that leaving her free risks destroying evidence and intimidating witnesses.
Regarding this request, the Assembly will vote on March 12 on whether or not to lift Balluk's immunity.
