Former Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, passed the baton today to her successor, Enea Karakaçi.

During her speech introducing the new Minister, Balluku spoke about the SPAK investigations against her.

Balluku has stated that the new justice reform should be the inspiration of this country.

Meanwhile, she emphasized that she herself will not mention prosecutors or judges in order to anathematize them in their work.

Balluku further emphasized that they should continue to do their job, just as she has done hers.

Balluku: I have made a personal decision, of my own free will, to remain silent on a legal issue, as I believe that every legal issue is not resolved on social media or in media banquets, but must have its course as provided for by the Constitution, codes or laws in force. I have decided, unlike many others, not to analyze, not to speak and not to anathematize, but to be consistent in my stance regarding justice. Justice must be free and independent.

I believe that the new justice system, as a product of the justice reform, as a product of the vision of Rama and the Socialist Party, as a product of a European Albania, should continue to be an inspiration for this country, as this reform was carried out to restore citizens' trust in a fair and independent justice system. I believe in this justice system and you will never hear me praise it when it hits my political opponents, since I have no such opponents, nor anathematize it when this justice system can affect my personal interests.

You will never hear me mention prosecutors and judges, as I believe that they should do their job, just as I did, and everyone should be free to decide and judge without being influenced by a public court, by half-truths or lies. I have not had and do not have any connection with corruption. I am being put on public trial.
