Fredi Belleri, the Greek MEP in the European Parliament, visited Archbishop Anastas Yanullatos in the hospital today, who is in critical condition.

He praised Janullatos, saying that he is his "spiritual father" and a "reference point for every Greek in Albania."

"For me, His Beatitude is my spiritual father. He is the man who, in the most difficult period of my life, stood by me, came and visited me in the cell. I also came to join my prayers with the rest of the Greek people for a speedy recovery. His Beatitude Anastasios is the man who revived the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania from the ruins. He has done a great job and is a point of reference for every Greek in Albania," Beleri declared.

Beleri's visit to Greece will be followed by an event in Ioannina, attended by Greek MPs and MEPs, where "the future of Epirus, Veyrut and Cyprus" will be discussed.

"With Minister S. Papastavrou and EPP MEPs F. Beleri and M. Hadxhipantela, we are waiting for you on Friday, January 10, at 6:30 PM at the Grand Serai in Ioannina, to discuss the future and challenges of Northern Epirus and Cypriot Hellenism," announces Greek MP Angelos Syrigos.
