Highlighting one of the comments on his Facebook page, Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to criticisms of the reduction in the price of electricity. With a video selfie from his office, Rama responds to the citizen "Sy m'Sy" regarding this measure, which according to him has nothing to do with propaganda before the May 11 elections.
"What have you done, brother, that we don't understand you, you are doing God to us. The price has decreased all over the world, you increased it 4 years ago, you are lowering it for elections, that's it! What is this empty propaganda ?", is this comment, which Rama has selected.
"First, we have never raised the price of electricity. We have maintained a fixed price of 9.5 Lekë for a decade, which for the vast majority was lower than the price we found when we came to office of 13.5 Lekë. Second, the price has not only not decreased worldwide, but has increased in many countries after the Russian aggression in early 2022. Meanwhile, ours is the only reduction in the price of electricity for families in Europe, at least since the beginning of the war in Ukraine," Rama replies.
Further, he "challenges" anyone to find at least a single instance during his years in power where he has done something similar, with the aim of gaining votes.
"Third, whoever says this is electoral swindling must find in all these years an action of this nature, with an electoral character, that I have taken for votes against the economic, financial logic of the country, or a case where a positive measure that we took before an electoral process was removed after winning the election. There is none, don't look in vain! It has not happened!"
Rama emphasized that the SP's victory over political opponents on May 11 will be profound.
"I've never done this before, when I had others in my lap, I'll do it on the eve of the elections when we'll get the 10th victory in a row?! That it will have a grade of 10 in terms of the depth of the result and the difference with the opponent, it doesn't matter! Lastly, talk is fleeting, for me the important fact is that, as of February, over 1 million family consumers will pay less for electricity, while pensioners will have a minimum pension from this price reduction. Have a good time!", concludes Rama.
