The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in a statement to the media near the blue headquarters, spoke about the policies of the Edi Rama government regarding the price of energy. Berisha said that reducing the price of energy for those who consume a lot is a fraud, as this means a reduction for those who are rich and not for those in economic difficulties.
Berisha stated that this move favors those who consume large amounts of energy, and added that this is an example of extreme inequality and hypocrisy.
"Edi Rama's memory is a fraud, it is a complete fraud. This movement means that the rich get richer, the poor remain almost where they are. Because, to lower the price of energy for those who consume 700 megawatts, as he consumes in the palaces of Surrel, perhaps, or some other, means to lower it for yourself. Lowering it to 85 lek from 95 lek, the same as for someone who receives 100 million lek per year, with someone who receives 3-4 million per year, is extreme inequality and extreme hypocrisy ," said Berisha.
Berisha stressed that the Democratic Party is steadfast in its demand for a reduction in energy prices in proportion to the salaries and pensions of citizens who earn less. He also called for a reduction in energy prices for businesses, especially small businesses.
According to Berisha, the price of energy for Albanians in 2013 was much lower and has currently increased unfairly, harming citizens. Berisha said that the Democratic Party will reverse the distribution of national income to help citizens escape poverty.
