Former Democratic Party MP, Ervin Salianji, has begun a tour of meetings that, according to him, aims to revive, strengthen and renew the party.

In a statement to the media before the start of a meeting in Durrës, Salianji said that Democratic Party politicians must return to the people and conversations with them to achieve this.

"It is very important that any of the politicians, but especially the politicians of the Democratic Party, return to the people, to the coffees, to the meetings, to the conversations to make possible the awakening of the Democratic Party, the resurgence of the Democratic Party and the renewal of the Democratic Party. I will be at every meeting where the Democrats ask me to listen, to talk and to share opinions on how the DP becomes stronger and becomes an alternative that defeats Edi Rama and the Socialist Party ," said Salianji.

According to him, the entire structure of the Democratic Party is at the meeting, starting with the last two elected branch chairmen, its secretary, vice-chairmen, former MPs and the list of the most voted DP in Durrës for the May 11 elections.

"This format is such that there are people who have not had representation or the opportunity to be in the structures. The MPs are in the National Council and in the parliamentary group where they express their opinion. We have thought and it was also thought by the organizers here that it should be such a format to speak openly, clearly and to take thoughts to where they need to be ," said Salianji.

Commenting on the statements of the party leader, Sali Berisha, today, who said that any activity outside the forums is private, Salianji said that his goal is the interest of the Democrats. 

"The purpose of every meeting is the resurgence, strengthening and awakening of the Democratic Party. The only purpose that I have and that I have shown is the public interest, but especially the opposition interest of the DP ," said Salianji.

Immediately, the hall was filled with DP supporters, in stark contrast to Sali Berisha's rostrums.

But what did Sali Berisha declare today?

Commenting on the speeches launched by democrat Salianji, Berisha described it as his personal move. According to him, the DP has initiated an open debate.

"Any person who organizes meetings for personal purposes has them totally in their own interest and has no connection to the party. This rule applies to every political force in the world. The lists in the DP were not the best and this system came from Edi Rama in 2021. Everyone makes their own choice," Berisha said.

Ervin Salianji began meetings on November 29th together with Ilir Alimehmet, one of the most voted DP candidates on the open lists.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party has begun its tour of the podiums alongside the "parliament" it holds every week in front of the Prime Minister's Office.
