Today was the deadline for submitting candidacies.
The Socialists have decided to respect parliamentary tradition and support the candidacies proposed by the opposition, without setting any conditions for giving them votes in return.
"We will not support a candidate, but we will evaluate the candidacies that have been supported with signatures from the opposition," said today the head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla.
Specifically, a specific formula is presented for the election of the Ombudsman, according to which the opposition proposes up to six candidates selected by it from the list of applicants, and the majority chooses three candidates that it deems acceptable.
According to this formula, out of these three candidates, the opposition decides on one of them to vote on in the session by consensus.
