ELECTIONS/ DP and SP make 'peace', agree that the new Electoral Code will be closed by July 2026!

The Special Commission on Electoral Reform has unanimously approved the full work calendar, which foresees the drafting of a new electoral code and its submission for a vote in the Assembly by July 2026.

The plan includes reviewing political party financing, campaign rules, the structure of election administration, the use of technology and the electoral system, while some of the topics will be addressed in cooperation with the ODIHR and the Venice Commission.

The Commission has set a detailed monthly deadline for each group of issues, while the approved documents will be published periodically for public consultation and comments from domestic and international organizations.
