The faction within the Democratic Party seems to have been confirmed with Ervin Salianj's first meeting with the Democrats in the city of Durrës, where he delivered a very strong and critical speech towards the current leaders of this political force.

While emphasizing the degradation of democracy in the country, according to him, by Edi Rama, Salianji said that the Democratic Party is also responsible, which with its incompetence has caused Rama to "kill" free and fair elections in Albania.

Salianji said that with the scandal of Belinda Balluku, caught in a 50 million euro theft, the country should have been flooded with massive protests to overthrow the corrupt government, but he said that the DP is unable to gather significant numbers of protesters around itself.

He also criticized the lack of meetings with the Democrats for 7 months as well as the failure to take responsibility for the election defeat. Salianji said that the time has come for the DP to open up and trust the new generation to make a change.

Excerpts from Salianj's speech:

Today, Albanians' expectations are high. Every democrat will hate us if we do not respond in time. It is true that Edi Rama does not hold free and fair elections. Edi Rama uses dirty means in politics and has ruined the political process in Albania.

The elections are like a fight for bread, the tightening of the workplace. But we must say it openly and honestly, another reason is the incompetence of the opposition, of the DP. Edi Rama managed to get 15 thousand voters out of Vlora with all the repression, but we didn't even manage to get 2000 out, why don't we motivate the democrats to go out and vote. Let's ask them, why?

We cannot close our eyes or ears when the arrest of Minister Belinda Balluku in the theft of 50 million euros did not make thousands of people take to the streets and overthrow this government as they do in Bulgaria and other countries. The Democratic Party is not growing. The lack of meetings 7 months after the elections, the failure to hold any kind of responsibility, the Democrats are tired and we should not be afraid to tell the truth as it is. Every democrat must be heard, not listening to them is a serious mistake.

The DP must open up, believe in the new generation, and without question win, freshness brings hope. We must say it out loud and without any complexes, we have the strength to bring rotation to this Albania, we have the strength to win, and victory is not an option, it is an obligation that we have to democrats and Albanians. This is the hour of courage, of responsibility, it is the hour to say it out loud, the DP must open up!
