Edi Rama , during his speech at the extended meeting of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, admitted that state administration employees rose up in protest against him, which has been going on for about two months.
The Prime Minister emphasized that those who worked in government jobs joined other citizens on the boulevard at dinner. According to him, the absorbing force of the protest was more powerful for them than his figure.
Rama added that the administration came out in protest because "the new Albania that we have built does not live in the shadow of the old one, where people were fired from state jobs because they went to a meeting of ours in the opposition."
" So I want to say to you right from the start, straight to the face, to those who protested against the mayor, to those who took to the boulevard during June, and to those who have protested silently and loudly, alone or with others, everywhere in Albania or abroad, not only during June but since the elections, you are not ungrateful, but the new measure of our standards.
You there on the outskirts of a municipality did not protest against what the mayor had done for you, you who filled the boulevard did not protest against the Albania that we built during the first three terms, and here, quite a few voters, supporters and members of the Socialist Party, but also those who were at state work during the day and went to the boulevard in the evening, they did not come out to attack the government or join the song "Rama, resign."
"Those who voted for us in June came out and joined the others even when the protest was directed against me because its absorbing force was more compelling to them than my figure. Those in the administration also came out with the others because the new Albania that we have built does not live in the shadow of the old one, where people were fired from state jobs because they went to a meeting of ours in the opposition ," he said.
