SP rejects DP's request for Peles' dismissal

The DP's request for the dismissal of Niko Pelesh was rejected with 79 votes against. 10 MPs voted in favor, zero abstentions. The DP did not participate.

The Democrats claim 5 serious violations of the regulation by Peleshi and have focused their arguments on the two sessions of September 16 and 18, where the regulation was changed, bringing the number of permanent parliamentary committees to 11, and the failure to hold a parliamentary debate on the 'Rama 4' governing program. 

Ivi Kaso, on behalf of the DP, said that they are not asking for the punishment of a person, but for the return of the Assembly to institutional standards. According to him, this request is a call for joint efforts to stop the institution from slipping into a “silent, submissive and empty institution.”

"This initiative for dismissal is not the next action for an opposition, or an ordinary political act, but a call for a joint effort to stop a dangerous slide of this assembly towards a silent, submissive and content-empty institution. We do not seek the punishment of a single person, but the restoration of institutional standards," said Ivi Kaso, among other things.
