Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted after the statement of former US Deputy Secretary of State, James Rubin, who during an interview stated this Wednesday that he prays that the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army are not found guilty by the Special Court in The Hague.
Because according to him, if this happens, it would be a real tragedy.
"FREEDOM HAS A NAME. Proclaiming freedom fighters guilty would be a tragedy ," Rama writes.
Rama's reaction comes after, during an interview, the former American diplomat gave his opinion on the issue of the investigation of former KLA leaders in The Hague.
"I pray that this does not happen. It would be a real tragedy for the people who fought and many of them died for their freedom, for those people who represented millions of Kosovo Albanians, to be found guilty without any evidence, which I have never seen. It would be a great blow to the international justice system ," Rubin declared, repeating several times that he hopes and prays that this does not happen.
Former American diplomat James Rubin testified in September before the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, as part of the defense of former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi and other leaders accused of war crimes.
