A few months ago, the Municipality of Tirana decided that the street where the embassies of Russia, Ukraine, Kosovo and Serbia are located should be named "Free Ukraine". The news also impressed the international media that covered it. Meanwhile, several civil society protests against the war in Ukraine took place in front of this Russian embassy.

Already forced to have "Free Ukraine" street as its official address, the Russian embassy decided to suspend operations on this street. While in an official post on the Facebook page, he justified this action "for technical reasons". In June, the embassy announced that work would begin in the new offices located in Mjull Bathore on "Dervish Shaba" street. Now, the building known as the Russian embassy has been stripped of its symbols and seems to have been closed for a long time.
