Progress Report for Albania, Gonzato: EC ready to support you in the negotiations!

Prime Minister Edi Rama and European Union Ambassador Silvio Gonzato are holding a joint conference, as Albania receives the EC progress report.

Gonzato: Let me say that yesterday the EC approved the enlargement package, which includes the report on Albania that I just submitted to Rama. Later I will also meet with Minister Spiropali, and during the week I will present it to the President, political parties and the head of the assembly. Excellent result and extraordinary speed of the process.

We must seize the unique opportunity as we are at a crucial stage, where Albania's will to align with EU legislation will be tested, where we have done an excellent job so far.

The EC is ready to support Albania in the negotiations. The immediate priority is to meet the interim milestones, which are so important that no chapter can be closed without their fulfillment.
