Representatives of the Democratic Party have not negotiated for candidacies in Tirana, but only for the model that could unite the opposition more broadly in the local elections. This was stated by Sali Berisha at the meeting of the DP leadership, according to which the goal is to reach a broad agreement between the opposition forces, to increase the chances of victory in the capital and in other branches.
"There was no discussion about candidates. The discussions were about the model that unites the opposition. We have candidates incomparable to the 'Corruption Crow', such as Adriana Kalaja, Klevisi, Edi Paloka, all much more worthy than the SP candidate," Berisha declared.
Berisha rejected claims that the DP has no candidates, stressing that government propaganda seeks to hide the truth about the socialist candidate. He added that support for an independent candidate does not stem from a lack of names, but from a strategy to unite opposition votes.
"How can you say, how can you claim that the DP has no candidates, against a person who, in all the conventions and codes of the world, committed crimes against humanity against the sick when she was Minister of Health? And became a co-author in the terrible reversal in education. But not the leaders, but I guarantee that every citizen with integrity of Tirana is 5 times, 10 times incomparably more worthy than the Raven of Corruption for that candidacy.
"So our effort to reach a broad agreement with other opposition forces has nothing to do with the problem of our excellent candidates. But it has to do with the electoral record. The totality of the votes as opposition and this cannot be ignored," Berisha said.
He accused Ogerta Manastirliu of being one of the most incriminated figures of the Socialist Party and a co-author of crimes during the pandemic.
"There are over 20 thousand lives lost. Her crimes are documented by the Supreme Audit Office and submitted to SPAK. She knows it as a mother, as a woman, as a sister, not that she did nothing for women's health, but on the contrary, she has committed crimes against humanity by depriving them of vital medicines for the treatment of diseases like in no other country on the planet. I don't know of any country that doesn't provide chemotherapy medicines to the sick. I don't know of any country that doesn't provide brachytherapy and other medical equipment. I don't know of any country that gives expired medicines to the sick. And all of these are conclusions of the Supreme Audit Office, submitted to the party's Skapan, which covers Altin Troplini, who is more criminal than this."
Berisha stressed that the socialist candidate has committed crimes against humanity during the pandemic and asked the Democrats to prepare a file for the international court on Manastirli.
"Therefore, I invite you to focus on an answer. Time is extremely tight, short, but considering that the criminal organization of the Socialist Party is one of the main exponents of crime, which with its positions I guarantee that not in Albania, and we will consider this if a file can be prepared for the international court, after the sick have been left at the mercy of expired medicines, by changing their labels, there are macabre acts, broken equipment has been left for months, which could have been fixed within a week at most."
