Ambassadors of the 27 European Union member states gathered in Brussels unanimously adopted the common position on Chapter 21 (Trans-European Transport Networks), which Montenegro will close on Wednesday afternoon.
The intergovernmental conference between Montenegro and the EU, which will mark the official closure of this chapter, is scheduled for 17 March in Brussels. Montenegro has opened all 33 negotiation chapters with the EU and has so far closed 13 chapters.
For Albania, in the absence of consensus among EU member states, the decision-making on the IBAR interim report on judicial standards was postponed, without which the closure of the negotiation chapters cannot begin.
Commissioner Kos will report on these developments on Monday afternoon to the EP's Foreign Affairs Committee after the meeting of European foreign ministers. Also on Wednesday, after the meeting of ministers for European affairs, the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, will address MEPs in the afternoon session./dosja.al
