Prime Minister Edi Rama responded to criticism that the decision regarding former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku is hindering Albania on its path towards the European Union.

In a press conference, Rama said that yesterday's reactions were deformed and ugly.

"We have had a debate with the internationals about Balluk's mandate, but I have a contract with the Albanians," Rama said.

Rama: I will start from yesterday's decision of the Parliament for the completely distorted echo that was given to that decision. You have certainly followed the entire course of the day, you have also followed my statement, which I want to repeat is related to the great truth that the request of the Prosecutor's Office did not even meet the minimum conditions to be taken into consideration. The attempt to link the rejection to some other reason or to give the rejection the dimension of a fact that will block Albania's path to the EU or will hinder the further implementation of the justice reform, or will hinder justice, is an ugly attempt, and in its desperation it has all the ingredients that are in our daily life the attempt to do everything possible to hinder Albania.
