On the eve of the end of the new election process in branches of the Democratic Party of Albania across the country, its leader Sali Berisha seems to have ready the new platform for the appointment of political leaders in the regions, a step aimed at reorganizing and strengthening the opposition at the national level.
Following the previous decision to appoint Luçiano Boçi as political leader in the Shkodra district, the now well-known former Elbasan MP, Aurel Bylykbashi, has been appointed political leader in the Vlora district.
Although his political career over more than three decades of pluralism has been built mainly in Elbasan, Berisha seems to consider Bylykbashi's experience valuable for strengthening right-wing structures in other strategic circles, including Vlora.
Meanwhile, within the framework of the process of reorganization of party structures, the Democratic Party of Albania Vlora Branch has announced the holding of elections for the branch president.
According to the official announcement, on March 15, 2026, from 08:00 to 18:00, DP members in Vlora will head to the ballot boxes to elect the new branch leader.
