LSI changes its name and will be called the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta takes over

The Socialist Movement has officially changed its name, being called the Freedom Party. The name was revealed by the former head of LSI Ilir Meta himself at the National Convention. 

"Now there is only one way, the referendum! Only the referendum is the guarantee that Albania will belong to the Albanians. There is no force in the world that can buy 3 million Albanians. Do not forget the Motherland, your children. Our children can find everything outside, but the Motherland is only here. Therefore, I invite you to the party of freedom, sovereignty, the party of the referendum. The Party of Freedom and of all Albanians. Long live free and democratic Albania. Long live Kosovo as an independent state", Meta said today.

Monika Kryemadhi has resigned from the leadership of the party and has been appointed to the Organizing Committee, where Ilir Meta will be at the head of it, while Agim Nesho will be the vice-chairman.

Based on these statutory changes, and specifically in reflection of the very serious situation that the country is experiencing, which burdens us with many times greater responsibilities than until now, I have the privilege of presenting to the Convention, the proposal of a group of members of the Convention, for changing the name of the party from the Socialist Movement for Integration to the Freedom Party

I also propose to the National Convention, after the submission of the resignation of the Chair of the LSI, Monika Kryemadhi, as well as in the conditions where all other management structures have completed their mandate, the creation of the Organizing Committee, with the following tasks: The Organizing Committee, is charged by the Convention National, for leading the party and its representation at all levels. The Organizing Committee will lead the party's activities for the preparation of the National Convention, which will be held within two months. The head of the Organizing Committee is Mr. Ilir Meta and the Deputy Chairman is Mr. Agim Nesho. These changes are effective immediately.
