Ledio Braho, who is currently a member of the Complaints and Sanctions Commission at the CEC, has received more support within the Democratic Party group for the position of the People's Advocate.

In fact, the lawyer should have been chosen in the last session, but because the DP deputies supported him with the signatures of 20 candidates and did not reach a consensus to bring one or two specific names, the process was postponed to this session .

Meanwhile, the newspaper "Panorama" learned through sources that the issue of the ombudsman was discussed at the meeting of the group of deputies of the Alibeaj line. It is known that it was the deputy Grida Duma, who asked to be concluded through a vote to choose the candidacy that will be taken to the Parliament where the majority votes are also needed. Two candidacies were put to the vote, that of Ledio Braho and Dorian Gjomarkaj. From where it is learned that 13 deputies voted for Braho's candidacy and 6 of them voted for Dorian Gjomarkaj.

However, this is not the final result as some of the MPs are expected to vote today after being absent from the Parliamentary Group meeting yesterday. There are 20 candidates in the race for the People's Advocate. Among them stand out several jurists and prominent personalities of public life. Erinda Ballanca has submitted the application to the Assembly, asking to run this institution for another 5-year term, but it is learned that she no longer enjoys the support of democratic deputies.

The member of KAS in the CEC, Ilirjan Rusmali, is also in the race. Regarding the latter, the "Panorama" newspaper has learned that the SP has expressed that it would agree to vote for him, but that Rusmajli does not enjoy the support of democratic deputies. Among the candidates is Bledar Dervishaj, who in the last 5 years was President Meta's defender in all his legal battles against the socialist majority. The latter enjoys the respect of both parties. The SP has stated in the PD group that they have no comment on Dervishaj, however the latter is not at the top of the list preferred by the right-wing.

Former deputy Sali Shehu is known to have been on the list of candidates for whom the SP has previously stated that it would not vote for him if he went to the session as a proposal. This list includes the well-known lawyer Jordan Daci and lawyer Alitin Goxhaj. To elect the new People's Advocate, the socialist majority will have to compromise with the opposition, as 84 votes are needed in the Parliament.
