Socialist Party MP Rrahman Rraja resigned today, announcing that he is permanently leaving politics, two days after the barbaric violence that his son, Rexhepi, and other relatives exercised against the brothers of the Maya tribe.
But who is the deputy who is expected to take Rraja's place in the Assembly?
He is Arkend Balla , who in the last parliamentary elections competed under the logo of the Socialist Party for the Durrës district. Balla was ranked 12th on the list and managed to get a total of 2463 votes.
Rrahman Rraja announced today the resignation of the mandate of the deputy, calling on his son to surrender to the police. The deputy's brother, Xelal Rraja, who is the owner of the quarry that caused the brutal fight, is also wanted.
The Mayan brothers had complained about blasting at the quarry, demanding that it be stopped as it was damaging houses near the site, but the Rraja tribe retaliated by brutally beating them with baseball bats.
Today, after the meeting that the Minister of the Interior Bledi Çuçi had with the head of the State Police Muhamet Rrumbullaku, the complete restructuring of the Kruja Police Station was decided.
