The deputy of the Socialist Party, Rrahman Rraja, has resigned after the involvement of his son and brother in a massive fight in Fushë-Kruje.

Rrahman Rraja says that he feels ashamed by the actions of his son, Rexhepi, who is currently wanted by the police as one of the organizers of the violence against the Maja brothers.

While saying that he apologizes to the electorate and his colleagues, Rrahman Rraja says that he is leaving political life, calling on his son to surrender.

Statement for the media by the deputy of the Socialist Party, Rrahman Rraja:

I have no words to express the embarrassment to all those who have trusted me all these years. Unfortunately I failed as a parent and feel publicly shamed by my child. I apologize to my friends and colleagues in the parliamentary group and declare the surrender of the mandate of the deputy and my withdrawal from political life. I apologize to those who have voted for me since 2000 as mayor and for 2 terms as deputy.

I apologize to the victims of that shameful violence for my family. I call on my son to surrender to justice. May God give me strength to face this great pain and life to pay off this shame that he left on my shoulders like a stone my son. Finally, thanks and apologies to the party chairman and the prime minister, who did not owe me anything for this great public concern that I caused.
