"Criticism is part of democracy", Kurti on the report with Rama: The
Prime Ministers Albin Kurti and Edi Rama

Prime Minister Albin Kurti commented on the situation in the North and the clashes with Serbia, where he said that his government had demanded that the European Union uphold its principles for the Constitution.

For the Prime Minister of Kosovo, the European Union should remove the measures against her, because according to him it is Serbia that is not respecting the agreements they have agreed to.

"I don't know when they will withdraw, I believe they should be removed as soon as possible because Kosovo is constructive, the Government of Kosovo has been creative with ideas and committed to dialogue, which has resulted in the basic agreement. On February 27th, we in Brussels have realized the basic agreement, which is de facto mutual recognition. We attached to the Ohrid agreement an annexation with 12 points, but it is Belgrade that has violated this. We said let's implement it in full and unconditionally," he told TV Koha.

Among other things, he stressed that objections to the agreements do not come from Kosovo, so the EU measures should be stringent for Serbia, which does not distance itself from Russia.

"It is not logical, nor rational, to insist against Kosovo with measures, from financial ones to high-level visits. It should have been removed and the letter of over 50 Western parliamentarians is the right step in the right direction to improve the approach towards Kosovo and to toughen up serbia, which does not distance itself from Either Milošević or Putin," he said.

Asked about his report with His Albanian counterpart, Edi Rama, Kurti said that the latter are concrete even after the cancellation of the meeting between the two governments.

"We have good reports, good reports. It is a matter of institutional responsibilities that we have, but also political and national, but that does not mean that we are not criticized or that we never have disagreements about anything. I believe criticism is part of democracy and they should be constructive. It is unfortunate that on June 14th the meeting of the two governments, which was prepared months ago, was not held, but we have not cancelled it, on the contrary we have made all the preparations. It is good not to expect the next meeting to sign those agreements, which was finally made by Tirana official except pristina," Kurti said.
