The president of the Union for Human Rights Party, Deputy Mayor Of The Union for Human Rights, Mr. Dule, has reacted to the arrest of Fredi Beler, calling it a political prisoner and imprisonment.

Dule has hurled strong accusations at Prime Minister Edi Rama during his speech in the News Zone, saying that the head of the Albanian government "has prepared the ground" for Beler's arrest.

Dules' statement comes hours after the visit of Greek New Democracy party MP Angelos Syrigos, who met Beler in prison.

"Mr. Beleri is the democratically elected mayor of the Municipality of Himara. Every second that goes on for me is not banned, it's kidnapped and it's being held hostage. For every second that this situation continues, the image of democracy, the rule of law, the standards required to be respected for human and minority rights are aggravated.

There is no fact, there is no evidence in favour of the prosecution. It is a conducted, politically motivated process and only for this reason Mr. Beleri continues to be a political prisoner of Mr. Rama.

If we look at the perspective, one week before the elections, at a time when the climate was extremely calm, normal, functional, as far as the candidates' options in the Municipality of Himara were concerned, it was the visit of God

Rama in that municipality who threw the fire visit with an inconceivable aggressiveness towards a candidate and already elected mayor, Mr. Beleri. Mr. Rama prepared the ground for a week in a row wherever it happens, in Tirana, Fier, Kamaz, where his word was everywhere Fredi Beleri," dule said.
