After the catastrophic loss on May 14, where the "Together We Win" Coalition took only 7 municipalities out of 61 in total, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha said that he will be voted in the Assembly, as defined by the Democratic Party's statute.
But today, when 3 months have passed since the local elections, Berisha has forgotten the statute and has declared that he will not vote in the Assembly, but has come up with another thesis.
For Berisha, his position or not at the head of the Democratic Party will be decided through a referendum, but there is no concrete date when this will happen.
"I am not voting in the Assembly, but in the referendum. A date will be set. The meeting of the presidency was held, the meeting of the National Council was held, the resolution was approved. Now the leadership must meet and determine the agenda of actions. It is inevitable. Voting is an absolute law, that's it," said Berisha.
The statute of the Democratic Party provides that in case of losing the local elections, the chairman of the Party will have to vote for confidence, while for the defeat in the parliamentary elections he will have to resign.
