The General Director for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Gert Jan Koopman, has stated at the EU-Western Balkans Summit that is being held in Tirana that a high pace of work is needed in order to benefit from EU funds.
He said that there is only one month left for the closure of the reforms.
Koopman: First the leaders present, testimony of your commitment. This also shows the high pace for change to occur.
It is not only about the leaders, but also the institutions must do their jobs.
Some of the initiatives should be fully functional.
The pace is high, but we have only one month left to close the reform agenda. The quality of the laws you have to pass must be high. You have us on your side, but the pace needs to be high for the funds to enter May before the summer break.
