Former Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Vilma Premti, has shared a message of thanks after being relieved of her duties, expressing gratitude for the trust she has been given to serve the people.
She emphasizes that during her career in public administration, she has been guided by the belief that public service is not defined by a function or title, but by the willingness to be close to people and to serve them with dedication, integrity and empathy.
"Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey," writes Vilma Premti, as she explains why in recent days as deputy minister, she has held meetings with teachers and representatives of the diaspora with pleasure and dedication.
Vilma Premti's full message:
Even though I knew that these were my last days as Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, I accepted and held with pleasure and dedication the meeting with teachers and representatives of the diaspora to discuss the institutionalization of the Knowledge Quiz for Albanian children living abroad.
There could not be a more meaningful topic to conclude this journey than a conversation about the Albanian language, our national identity, and the younger generations who grow up far from their homeland, but who continue to hold it close to their hearts.
Throughout my career in public administration, I have believed that our duty is, first and foremost, to listen. To listen to citizens, communities, professionals, teachers, and every voice that has something to contribute.
For this reason, even on my last day of duty, I felt it natural to be there, to listen, discuss, and share ideas for an initiative that serves our community with the conviction that working for the diaspora will continue to remain a national priority.
I leave this position with deep gratitude for the trust placed in me over the years and with the conviction that public service is not defined by a function or title, but by the willingness to be close to people and to serve them with dedication, integrity and empathy.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey.
