The leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, condemned today the protest organized in support of Erion Veliaj in front of SPAK, calling it a coup against the new justice system, which according to him is also a "coup".
Meta attacks Prime Minister Edi Rama, saying that "this event proves the mafia mentality of the Head of the Organization and his intimidating, blackmailing and threatening relationship towards state institutions and the "New Justice" itself that he created."
Then, just like Sali Berisha's recent statements, Meta says that his statements towards Altin Dumani do not apply to every SPAK prosecutor. Since Veliaj's arrest, Berisha and now Meta have publicly stated that not all SPAK prosecutors are captured by the government.
Meta's full reaction:
The attack on the GJKKO, a "coup" against the coup!
I condemn in the strongest terms the attack and orchestrated violence of the Drug State against the GJKKO, directly ordered by the Head of the Organization, Edi Rama.
The siege of the GJKKO with police and municipal officials and the official refusal of the Narcopolice to guarantee the physical security of judges and prosecutors was a "coup" against the coup.
"Ramaforma" itself was a coup d'état because with decisions on laws and the Constitution, as well as with the vetting controlled by him, the Head of the Organization captured the entire justice system.
But since persistent concrete denunciations, persistent criminal charges, protests, and persistent opposition pressure achieved a result, then this "coup d'état" was also ordered against the coup d'état that Edi Rama himself carried out.
Despite the delayed reaction of the GJKKO, after 48 hours, this event proves the mafia mentality of the Head of the Organization and his intimidating, blackmailing and threatening relationship towards state institutions and the very "New Justice" that he created.
I distance myself from all the party analysts funded by the incinerators' money who try to compare this criminal event to the Freedom Party's protest in front of SPAK, where no member or sympathizer of its, at any moment, has exercised violence against institutions nor put the lives of prosecutors at risk.
I remind you that the protest in front of SPAK was accompanied by a criminal report for my bandit kidnapping by masked, heavily armed thugs without identification documents, who did not show me any arrest warrant and who escorted me in private vehicles, ordered by Edi Rama, Altin Dumani and McGonigali themselves, which was also proven by SPAK's inaction after this report against the leaders of the Narcopolice.
I emphasize that the Freedom Party not only did not organize a protest against the GJKKO, but I remind you that I personally have publicly called on members and supporters not to gather in front of this institution for any reason, not even as a sign of solidarity with me.
Our stances towards Dumani are not about any SPAK prosecutor, but about his despicable services towards Edi Rama and McGonigail, about the political processes towards opposition leaders, about the public amnesty he gave to the phantom incinerator of Tirana, which he described as an "intellectual crime", as well as about not holding the perpetrators of this mega-affair criminally accountable.
I emphasize that any achievement in the fight against corruption and organized crime is only the result of persistent criminal charges, persistent denunciations, persistent public protests, and the persistence of the Freedom Party and the opposition as a whole.
Therefore, we must continue with denunciations, criminal charges, and persistent protests to achieve the final goal, the overthrow of the Narcostate and the deserved punishment of the Head of the Organization.
After May 11, SPAK will continue to function and return to its mission, while Edi Rama will not need to spend a single day in detention or hide his cell phone because his evidence and signatures are public.
